Saqib Ahmad

Trainee Solicitor

As a Trainee Solicitor, one of my key responsibilities is to ensure that I complete my work in a quick and efficient fashion. I work alongside other fee earners not only to help share the load but also to reduce costs for the client. I joined Birkett Long in September 2022 as a Paralegal with the Wills, Trust and Probate Team and I am based at the Colchester office.

I have loved everything I’ve done since I joined the firm. It has been an exciting and engaging chance to practise and apply what I spent four years learning in university. Being able to work and feel like I am making a difference for a client and for my team is very fulfilling. I chose this path as I wish to become a solicitor myself and because I have a strong interest in law and its practice.

I am very interested in both cricket and football, being a Pakistan NT and Chelsea fan, respectively. I also enjoy listening to podcasts and audiobooks whilst travelling - particularly fiction by authors such as  Agatha Christie and Terry Pratchett, although the most recent audiobook I completed was a non-fiction book called 'The Pity of Partition' by Ayesha Jalal.

When time allows I volunteer with the Chelmsford Muslim Society at various events. Most recently, I helped raise funds for flood relief in Pakistan, which involved selling food in town and fundraising.
