Welcome to Birkett Long’s jobs and opportunities.
Why join Birkett Long?
Emma Rayner started Birkett Long as an Administration Apprentice with only GCSEs behind her. She is now an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives.
“The firm has helped me so much. They took me on when I was very young and has always helped me progress by giving me new job opportunities and providing me with invaluable training. It hasn’t mattered that I have not come from University education (or a very good education at all). In my opinion, Birkett Long has provided my education and I haven’t got to where I am now because of my school, it is all down to Birkett Long.”
Leah Woodnott, an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives in the Wills, Trusts and Probate team, has also had a progressive and successful journey at Birkett Long so far:
“Five years ago, I joined Birkett Long as a Trainee Float Secretary and soon became qualified. Little did I know when I started that five years later I would be a lawyer!
My ambition to progress as a lawyer soon became my focus and I started studying towards my CILEX accreditation. In December 2018, Birkett Long recognised my hard work and offered me a role as a Paralegal in their Wills, Trust and Probate team.”
This experience isn’t only limited to our lawyers, however. Jennie Skingsley, now the firm’s Marketing Manager, started out in the Administration team. Jennie says: “I joined the firm after finishing university, without much idea of what I wanted to do. I was offered a role in the admin team ‘for a few months’, which became a few years and then many years! I’ve always felt supported through my professional development, including during my studies for a Level 6 Professional Diploma with the Chartered Institute of Marketing, and am now working towards becoming a Chartered Marketer.”
