The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an IT Manager to join our expanding IT team based in the Colchester office. The firm is adopting modern technologies, including cloud platforms, to enable it to deliver the best in client service and this role will be at the forefront of those initiatives.

You will be a lead technical specialist, experienced in delivering best-in-class support, maintenance and projects through the hands-on leadership of a small team of support and implementation staff operating in a hybrid on-premise/cloud Microsoft environment.
 
Key responsibilities will include:

• Team and resource management; responsible for 1st-3rd line technical support and project activities
• Day to day service management; prioritisation, escalation, problem, implementation and workload management.
• Primary responsibility for ensuring that the service provided to the business is in line with the agreed KPI’s; and is judged to be ‘best practice’.
• Risk management

The Candidate
We are looking for a forward-thinking and customer-focussed IT manager with previous experience within an operational IT team in a medium/large enterprise. The successful candidate will work closely with the IT Director and be responsible for the day to day management of the IT team. Previous experience in a relevant supervisory role is likely to feature on your CV.

You will have excellent time management and analytical skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the Firm. 

You will have demonstrable experience of:
• hands-on operational IT systems ;
• delivery of desktop applications and services to mobile and fixed desktops;
• an understanding of network topologies;
• Windows 10 migration, deployment & management;
• managing a hybrid Microsoft 365 environment including administration and troubleshooting;
• Group Policy and Active Directory;
• User profile management;
• PowerShell scripting Skills;
• Trouble-shooting and problem diagnosis, data collection and vendor liaison;

The role will include travel to all sites and the successful candidate will preferably have their own vehicle as well as a clean driving licence.

The Agriculture & Estates team offers a wide range of advice including

The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a 2 year PQE Solicitor or Legal Executive to join the team to handle a mixture of wills, trust, probate and other private client matters and advice focussing on assisting clients with an agricultural background.  The candidate will have previous wills, trust and probate experience but have genuine interest in agricultural matters.  The position is full-time and will be based in our Colchester office.

This role is an excellent opportunity for progression and the candidate will need to be able to work with minimal supervision. Experience of using the SOLCASE case management system and ability to type will be an advantage.

The role will involve some marketing and business development and therefore the ideal candidate must be flexible enough to work outside normal office hours when required and preferably have their own vehicle as well as a clean driving licence.


The Candidate
The ideal candidate will have undertaken a seat or have previous experience within wills, trust and probate and have a desire to further their career within the agricultural sector. You will have experience in running a case load appropriate to your level of experience.

The candidate must be outgoing, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and be a team player.

The Role
We have a vacancy for a full time Legal Support Assistant to join our busy and well respected Commercial Real Estate team in our Colchester Office. 

The Department
You will join the fast paced Commercial Real Estate team which provides a wide range of services inclusive of landlord and tenant, lending and finance, development and investment.

The Candidate
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and professional applicant to join the Commercial Real Estate team to help to deliver a proactive, secretarial support service to our Fee Earning team.  Previous secretarial experience in Real Estate for this role and knowledge of document production and/or track changes would be a distinct advantage.

Main Duties and responsibilities
Organisational Support
• Effective and productive diary and email management; awareness of Fee Earners workloads to plan ahead with minimal supervision.
• Deal with post, internal and external, distribute and action as required.
• Deal with fee earner filing, to do lists and case management duties.
• Retain up to date knowledge and understanding of Fee Earners matters to enable a proactive support service.
• Maintain a professional attitude and effective communications
• Process relevant on time with accuracy and minimal supervision.
• Undertake basic research (online or otherwise) for Fee Earner when required.
• File opening and closing with minimal supervision.

Client Relationship and Business Development
• Act as a first point of contact for Fee Earners; providing a first-rate telephone support service; taking enquiries and relaying these to the Fee Earner.
• Organise business development meetings and events for Fee Earners; assist in the production of business development materials in liaison with the Marketing team.

Document Production
• Proof read all documents for spelling
• Use initiative to compose drafts and send correspondence
• Preparation of bills and undertaking of the Firm’s procedures in billing, AML and Debt Management.
• Deal with Time Recording matters as required by Fee Earners.
