Kerry Hull

Senior Associate Solicitor

I am a Senior Associate Solicitor in the Chelmsford Office of Birkett Long. I specialise in Contentious Trust, Probate, and Court of Protection work, including representing clients in disputes relating to challenges to wills on issues of validity, including testamentary capacity, execution, knowledge and approval, and fraud.

I also advise on bringing or defending claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975, the removal and substitution of trustees, promissory and proprietary estoppel claims, disputes involving joints accounts and ownership of funds, Trust of Land and Appointment of Trustee Act 1996 claims and issues involving the creation of  Constructive and/or Resulting Trusts and beneficial interest claims in property, advising on infant and protected party settlements, the recovery and tracing of assets, deputyship applications, revocation of LPAs, and the creation of statutory wills.

My clients have described me as knowledgeable, approachable, and excellent at preparing cases. I quickly grasp what is needed to win a case and achieve an outcome that meets the client's needs. I have also been described as extremely professional but robust in my approach, diligent, amiable, and pragmatic after a thorough analysis of the client's position.

In my spare time, I am a level 1 hockey umpire and play walking netball. Our family has a 3-year-old border collie, and I enjoy taking him for agility training sessions and on walking holidays.
