Fighting Fraud

If you have received an email from Joseph Ramdath, Barry Alexander or O Brien Wright, it is not legitimate.

Members of the public have received emails from Joseph Ramdath, Barry Alexander and O Brien Wright, falsely claiming to be attorneys at Birkett Long LLP. We can confirm that they are not employees of Birkett Long.

The emails have used Birkett Long’s genuine postal addresses. Some examples of the sender’s email addresses are as follows:

These are not real email addresses of Birkett Long.

Birkett Long’s employees will not contact you from a personal email address. Be aware if the sender’s account is Gmail, Hotmail, Outlook or any other private account.

We have reported this scam to the relevant organisations.

You can read more about the matter we’re dealing with on the Solicitors Regulation Authority website here.

Unfortunately, we have been informed that this cannot be classified as a police recorded crime, unless an individual suffers losses as a result and then reports it to the police themselves.

What should I do if I receive one of these emails?

If you are unsure about an email you have received, even if it does not contain the names Joseph Ramdath or Barry Alexander, please feel free to contact us to confirm its authenticity. Do not click on any links if you are not sure about who sent you the email.

After you have made us aware, you can safely ignore and delete the email.

We apologise for any inconvenience or distress caused by these fraudulent emails.
