I was interested to read the recent case of IX v IY which considered the question...
I have a wide range of experience dealing with all types of relationship breakdown and I am committed to representing my client's best interests. I provide clear, concise and realistic advice. I am approachable and always remain calm under pressure. If possible, I will try and resolve a matter without the need to go to court but, if the situation requires it, I will pursue court action. I'm based in our Chelmsford office, and am available for a free 15 minute chat over the phone on 01245 453846.
I wanted to be a lawyer from a young age and dedicated my studies at college and university to achieving this ambition. Family law was always an area I hoped to specialise in; it allows me to help those experiencing difficulties or trauma in their lives and in doing so it provides a sense of purpose. I love that no one day is ever the same.
I assist clients with a full range of issues involving divorce and family law. I specialise in ending a relationship, children and family law. I am the team leader of the South Essex Divorce and Family team, and have responsibility for the supervision of the other lawyers in the team.
I am an accredited member of the Law Society's Family Panel. This is an assessed accreditation scheme which recognises those with family law expertise and experience.
I am a member of Resolution, a national organisation of family lawyers committed to non-confrontational divorce, separation and family problems.
In my spare time I enjoy playing (or at least trying to play..!) golf. I also spend as much time as possible with my two godsons.
I have been involved in the local Law Society and was previously a Trustee of the YMCA in Colchester. I have set up and maintain excellent contacts with local mediators and Counsel as well as other solicitors. I am currently looking for opportunities to further develop my presence in the local area.
