Karen Morovic

Senior Associate Solicitor

Profile

I am a highly experienced solicitor specialising in employment and business immigration law, known for going the extra mile for my clients.

From the very first contact, I work closely with clients to define clear objectives and maintain open, strategic communication throughout. My ability to advise both employers and employees gives me a deep and balanced understanding of workplace challenges, helping me deliver practical, effective solutions - even in the most complex cases.

After earning my law degree from University College London, I trained in the city at what is now Taylor Wessing. I went on to work at Freeths in Nottingham and later became Head of Employment Law and a Partner at John Fowlers Solicitors in Colchester. In 2023, I joined Birkett Long as a Senior Associate Solicitor in Julie Temple’s BLHR and Employment Team – ranked Tier 1 by The Legal 500.

My expertise covers a wide range of employment matters, including complex discrimination, whistleblowing, unfair dismissal claims, executive terminations, and post-termination restrictions. I also advise on TUPE-related disputes and have successfully represented clients through conciliation, as well as in the Employment Tribunal and Employment Appeal Tribunal. On the business immigration side, I assist UK employers with all aspects of employee work visas, including sponsor licence applications.

In 2024, I was honoured to be recognised by the Lady Chief Justice of England and Wales in the inaugural Pro Bono Recognition List. I regularly deliver training on all areas of employment law, most recently covering collective redundancy consultations and disciplinary and grievance investigations. A frequent webinar presenter, I have recently delivered updates on the Employment Rights Bill and contribute regularly to legal blogs.

I take pride in delivering the highest standard of service, reflected in the many five-star reviews I have received on ReviewSolicitors.co.uk. I build long-lasting client relationships, and many continue to recommend me to their networks.

Outside of work, I enjoy playing the piano and organ, practising yoga, and going on long walks with my husband and our two boys.
