Philip is the former Head of Commercial Department and was the firm’s Managing Partner between 2002 and 2010. His specialisms included education law and health and social care. Philip had experience dealing with a wide variety of commercial issues, including advice on partnerships and joint ventures, sales and purchases of companies and businesses, and on various Private Finance Initiative and Private Public Partnership projects.

Philip continues to serve as a non-executive director on the boards of a number of companies and other organisations. Together with his wife Lorraine, he now runs The Sentinel Gallery in Wivenhoe - the profits from which are donated to The Rob George Foundation - a charity set up by them in memory of their youngest son Rob, who died of leukaemia in 2013.
