I was interested to read the recent case of IX v IY which considered the question...
I joined Birkett Long in May 2013 as a Consultant Solicitor in the Wills, Trusts and Probate Team at Basildon. I deal with various areas of the law including preparing wills, probate applications, administering estates, preparing and registering lasting powers of attorney.
Having completed my school education as one of the first 10 girls at Felsted school, I gained my law degree and professional exams in Chelmsford at what is now known as Anglia Ruskin University.
I joined Edwards Son & Noice in Billericay as a trainee and remained with that firm after qualifying, eventually becoming its Principal until the merger with Birkett Long LLP in 2013.
I trained in various aspects of legal work in my early career eventually establishing a thriving Private Client practice. I have been delighted to welcome so many of my long-standing clients to the new office in Basildon, although I still frequently travel back to Billericay for meetings and to see clients in their homes when necessary.
During my time both living and working in Billericay I have been active in the town, joining a local fund raising organisation and later co-founding the first professional ladies lunch club in the town. I was an active member of the local school PTA and an elected Parent Governor for both infant and junior schools, I also served for many years as a committee member of the Billericay CAB.
In my spare time, I enjoy foreign travel, eating out and entertaining.
