Jennie Skingsley, Associate and Marketing Manager at Birkett Long, has been accredited Chartered Marketer status by the leading professional body for marketers – The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).

Jennie received her Professional Diploma in Marketing in 2015, following her progression to Marketing Manager in 2011.  In 2020, she is now recognised as a Chartered Marketer.

She said: “I’ve been working towards accreditation as a Chartered Marketer for several years. Once I had enough experience to become a fully-fledged Member of the CIM, I had to record 35 hours of continuing professional development activity for 2 consecutive years, before undertaking an online assessment.

“I’ve always enjoyed learning and I see it as key to being in the marketing profession. It’s a fast-moving specialism that constantly changes. Having the focus of Chartered Marketer helps keep me on track with my development and ensures I keep up to date with what is going on in the field, both strategically and tactically. The accreditation is reassessed every year, so the hard work is never done!”

Winning Gold at the Essex Digital Awards for the firm’s use of social media for business, winning Gold for use of video for business, a bronze award in the Blog for Business category and also being identified as an 'Innovation50' business.
