Birkett Long to provide free legal advice for those celebrating Essex Pride

A team of solicitors from law firm Birkett Long will be on hand at Essex Pride in Chelmsford Central Park on Sunday 4 September to provide free legal advice.

Those seeking a fun family day out at Essex Pride will be able to drop in on the team for on-the-spot legal advice at no charge to help with problems that may have become a worry or that they haven’t had the time to tackle before.

Birkett Long’s Street Legal team, a group of experienced solicitors, will be on hand to answer questions about co-habitation agreements, wills, inheritance, personal injury, divorce, relationship issues, civil partnerships, property, conveyancing, litigation and employment.  Any questions that can’t be answered on the day will be followed up by a call from a relevant lawyer later on.

Emma Brunning, Associate Solicitor in the Family team at Birkett Long, said: “Our Street Legal team has dealt with a wide variety of legal concerns at many other events and we’re looking forward to meeting and assisting even more people, even if it’s just for a quick informal chat.”

Essex Pride is a community celebration of LGBT diversity and Birkett Long is keen to get involved and support the event by providing professional advice at the stand in the Community marquee between 12 and 4pm. Birkett Long also sponsors Essex Gay Men and is working with The Outhouse, voluntary organisations providing support and information to LGBT people across the county.

Emma added: “Street Legal at Essex Pride is an opportunity for members of the public to get face-to-face, friendly advice from a team of legal professionals. We are proud to be supporting the gay community and are hoping for a great turn out on the day. Look out for the bright green Birkett Long t-shirts!”

The eighth year of Essex Pride is hoping to be the biggest and best celebration since its launch, with a great line-up of live entertainment across two stages in the park as well as food stalls and fairground rides.
