Birkett Long is delighted to announce the promotion of Hayley Goldstone and Carla Jones to Senior Associate, Jacqui McGuirk, Cara O’Donoghue and Jemma Jones to Associate, and Destiny Carter and Beth Wrightson to Executive, taking effect on 1 December 2023.
Hayley is in our Commercial Real Estate team in Colchester and joined the firm as an Associate Solicitor in November 2021. Hayley qualified as a solicitor 18 years ago, taking the traditional route of completing a law degree at the University of East Anglia, followed by the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in Guildford, where she gained a Distinction and completed her training contract at a local firm.
Carla is the Team Leader for Dispute Resolution in Colchester and joined the firm as an Associate Solicitor in March 2022. Carla qualified as a solicitor in December 2013 and studied History at King’s College London before completing the Graduate Diploma in Law and the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law (now known as the University of Law).
Jacqui is in the Dispute Resolution team in Chelmsford and joined the firm in February 2022. Jacqui qualified as a solicitor in April 2018 and, since qualification, has been focusing on developing her practice area within property litigation, where she has acted in a number of High Court and complex cases. Jacqui is a member of the Property Litigation Association.
Cara is in the Agriculture and Estates team and joined the firm in July 2015. Cara graduated from Plymouth University with a first class law degree and went on to complete the Legal Practice Course with Distinction at the University of Law. Cara then undertook her training contract at the firm before qualifying as a solicitor in the Agriculture and Estates team in March 2020.
Jemma is in the Residential Real Estate team in Colchester and joined the firm in January 2018. Jemma qualified as a solicitor in February 2015. Following her law degree, she then completed the Legal Practice Course independently while working for a sole solicitor and then completed her training contract at a firm in Bury St Edmunds.
Destiny is a Legal Support Assistant in the Court of Protection and Inheritance Disputes team in Colchester and joined the firm in July 2015 as an Apprentice in the Administration team.
