Essex Law firm supports local children's charity

Birkett Long’s Divorce and Family team is supporting local charity Stepping Stones Play and Learn Group and recently visited to meet the children and the staff.

Birkett Long staff were delighted to learn about the group and the work that they do in supporting families in the local community, which stretches far beyond the nursery setting. Karen Johnson and Katie Robertson, from Birkett Long, were privileged to able to see the benefit the children got from the firm’s donations of a fish tank, glitter ball for the sensory room, flower pots and a cutting set. They joined the children for a singing and signing session and stayed for a play session afterwards.

Karen Johnson, a solicitor in the Divorce and Family team, said: “This charity provides such an important resource for children and their families in the local area. It was clear to see that the staff were absolutely committed to ensuring a safe and loving environment for the children to learn and play. The children we met were amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed playing with them”.

Sue Townsend, the nursery co-ordinator, said: “This donation will help tremendously with supporting our children to learn in their own unique way and at their own pace. We are most grateful to groups like Birkett Long who assist us to continue to work with children with additional needs and their families.”
