Essex law firm donates Christmas lunches to local charity
Birkett Long celebrated its 200th anniversary in 2021 and carried out as many random acts of kindness as it could in the local community as part of the celebrations.
In a random act of kindness, the firm donated towards the cost of 35 Christmas lunches for members of the Day Centre at Crossroads in Braintree and Chelmsford. Crossroads is a local charity whose purpose is to provide respite care within the community to the growing number of adults who provide unpaid care to a relative or friend affected by disability, age, illness or mental ill health, who otherwise would not be able to manage without their support.
Nigel, a long-term member of the Day Centre said: "The ladies worked hard and planned meticulously for a party that evoked emotional thoughts of yesterday and Christmas gone by. There were generous portions of delightful food so all had full happy stomachs. Everyone commented on the beautifully prepared food served. Well done all and many thanks."
Danni Perry, Finance and Business Development Manager at Crossroads, said: “We were so grateful for the kindness of Birkett Long enabling Crossroads to provide a Christmas lunch to our members, it was a nice end to the year, everyone enjoyed themselves.”
Jennie Skingsley, Marketing Manager at Birkett Long said: “We were delighted to be able to treat the members of Crossroads at Christmas to acknowledge and thank them for all that they do. Birkett Long is here for good and is committed to making a difference to its local communities.”
