Essex law firm delivers Calm Kits to St. Luke’s Hospice in random act of kindness
Birkett Long is celebrating its 200th anniversary this year, and as part of the celebrations the firm is aiming to carry out as many random acts of kindness in its community as possible during the year.
The firm’s focus is on treating the people at and behind the charities, just to say thank you for the amazing work they do and to show their appreciation.
Jennie Skingsley, Marketing Manager, and Cheryl Burness, Executive Legal Support Assistant at Birkett Long, delivered 400 Calm Kits to the staff and volunteers at St Luke’s Hospice. The Calm Kits contained biscuits, tissues, sweets, calming tea and a copy of the Happy newspaper.
St. Luke’s Hospice’s mission is to provide the highest standards of individualised care for people with life-limiting conditions, palliative and end of life care needs, and their families, living in Basildon and Thurrock districts.
Jennie said: “We know the work that St.Luke’s Hospice does is incredibly hard and that sometimes they need to take a moment for a wobble. Hopefully, our Calm Kits will help make those wobbly moments a bit easier.”
Suzanne Sales, Assistant Director of Clinical Service at St.Luke’s Hospice said: “We are incredibly grateful for the calm kits we received from Birkett Long, our staff and volunteers very much enjoyed receiving them and we thank everyone at Birkett Long for their ongoing support.”
