Molly Frankham, a Colchester dispute resolution solicitor, has been appointed as the latest trustee of Outhouse East, an Essex charity offering support and information to the LGBT+ community.

Outhouse East aims to provide support to individuals and communities to enhance knowledge, awareness and confidence through counselling and LGBT+ awareness sessions.

Solicitor Molly Frankham said: “I consider it incredibly important that each and every person is treated equally and with the upmost respect. Looking at the LGBT+ community, I have friends and family who have had experiences which fall far short of this. As a result, these experiences affect the way they live their lives and this is not right. The core values Outhouse East reflects are that of diversity, equality, engagement, innovation, integrity and excellence. With these values at the forefront, both Outhouse East and Birkett Long are working towards the same goal.”

Molly’s role includes having ultimate responsibility for the governance of Outhouse East and deciding how it is run and managed. The trustees are responsible for ensuring that Outhouse East continues to benefit the community, together with the best interests of the charity as a whole and all of those who come into contact with it.

On becoming a trustee, Molly said: “I want to be able to offer my knowledge and experience to help Outhouse East, not just as a trustee, but by helping out on socials and attending fundraising events. To be involved at any level is great - it means a lot to me to give everything I have worked for on a professional level, back to my community.”

Chairman of Trustees, Martin Gillingham said: “We are delighted to welcome Molly on board as a trustee, her professional background is a huge asset to us and as a younger member of the board and as a woman, this ensures we have diversity in the trustees which in turn helps us to be in tune with the community and ensure we provide services that are relevant.
