Birkett Long appoints Solicitor to its growing residential property team

Solicitor Jemma Jones has joined Birkett Long’s Colchester residential property team.

Jemma qualified as a solicitor in 2015 and has worked at well-respected firms across Essex and Suffolk, so she knows the area well. Jemma will be based at the firm’s Colchester office in Sheepen Road, advising clients on all aspects of residential conveyancing including buying, selling, transfer of equity, re-mortgaging and lease extensions.

Commenting on the appointment, Birkett Long’s Head of Real Estate, Kurt Goddard, said, “We are delighted to welcome Jemma to the team. She is personable and a team player; she is going to be a great addition to our team and will get on brilliantly with our clients.”

Jemma said: “I enjoy working within the residential property team and I am excited to work at Birkett Long, given the reputation it has. Working within a Property team is fast-paced and I enjoy working with people, whether it’s for someone who is buying or selling their first, last or hundredth property.

“Transactions can vary but working in residential property means that in most cases you are all working towards a common goal.  However, something you think may be straight forward can end up much more complicated than expected, and can mean that you have to involve several other departments within the firm.”
