When is work, not work? When you attend Essex Pride!

What a day on Saturday. It was sweltering in the tent and I was just pleased we were close-ish to the exit to get some breeze. I enjoyed it so much and although we were there to help with legal issues, it really did not feel like work at all. Thank you to everyone that came over to our stand and took the time to speak to us and follow us on one of the social media platforms. The network connection was a bit hit and miss at times and so if you did not get a chance to follow us but wish to do so, details are shown below. Instagram was definitely the favoured option for the day.

It was great to see so many families attending and our photo booth stand was very popular with all (see our own photo above). Showing our support at Pride is very important. Birkett Long has supported the LGBTQ+ community for a long time. We started sponsoring the Essex Gay Men club back in 2009, and now work with the OutHouse and Colchester Kings RFC (East Anglia’s first gay and inclusive rugby team), as well as having an active presence at Essex Pride and Colchester Pride. I was pleased to see that other professional firms have now followed suit. Dealing with legal issues can be daunting and sometimes scary, but we aim to ensure that our clients feel comfortable and at ease.

I met some wonderful people on Saturday and I know that some valuable advice was given (this was feedback from a few attendees that got free legal advice).

Whatever your legal issues are, we are there for you, so please get in touch. Or maybe we’ll see you at Colchester Pride in August? If you would like to speak to someone or require advice, Claire Read would be happy to hear from you and can be reached on 01245 453835 or claire.read@birkettlong.co.uk.
