Hugh Hefner's wife 'won't inherit anything'
- AuthorClaire Read
Recently in the news, it was announced that the playboy editor has died, aged 91. His third wife, Crystal Harris, is reported to have signed an “ironclad” prenuptial contract which prohibits her from inheriting any of Hefner’s fortune. Instead, the assets will be split between his four adult children, the University of Southern California film school, and several charities.
Whether your estate is £32m, like in Hugh’s case, or £200,000, trying to balance who gets what in second or third relationships can be difficult, particularly where there are children from different relationships. The good news is that we can help and by using a special type of trust called a ‘life interest trust’, everyone could be happy. Another option may be to take out a life assurance policy so that a lump sum will be payable on death. This is particularly useful when children from a previous relationship are being financially maintained and that maintenance would need to continue.
