Councils 'don't pay fair price for care'

The news yesterday that Councils don’t pay a fair price for care may come as no surprise in these straightened times but it is a worrying trend for older people, their carers and loved ones.

Whilst Councils are short of funds to cover the care needs for our ageing population, this is a vital service offered to older people in their homes. Without it many vulnerable older people are being left without proper support.

I have just last week liaised with the Local Authority about funding care in a client’s own home. We regularly advise on the issue of funding and the cost of care both in the home and in care homes.
