Kimberley Hircock
Solicitor
Profile
I am a Solicitor in the Education Team. My clients choose me because I am approachable, empathetic, and dedicated.
I chose to be an education solicitor because I enjoy the fulfilment of being able to help and advise individuals with an aim of providing effective resolutions.
I maintain excellent client service and meet strict deadlines whilst providing high-quality legal advice that is easily understandable. A key factor in being able to achieve this is my ability to listen and digest the salient information.
My experience of practising in education law began as a trainee solicitor in 2016, where I specifically advised parents with disputes relating to the area of special educational needs and disability discrimination. After qualifying as a solicitor, I have had the opportunity to advise local authorities and schools in a range of areas in education law including special educational needs, exclusions and admissions. Since joining Birkett Long I now solely advise parents, guardians, carers and young people.
These experiences combined have provided me with a broad and balanced knowledge of this area of law, enabling me to weigh up both sides of an educational issue and suggest solutions in order to reach a resolution between the parties. If required, I have experience in advocacy, particularly involving the First-Tier Tribunal (Special Educational Needs and Disability).
I had the privilege to be involved with the Chelmsford Lions and Lioness Clubs, helping them to raise money for good causes and charities, which has included dressing up as a clown in the high street for Children in Need, taking part in charity quiz nights and helping with the Father Christmas Sleigh events.
In my spare time, I enjoy playing netball as part of a social league, badminton and having walking adventures with my dog. I also have a keen interest in theatre and musicals.
