I trained at a commercial firm in Ipswich, but was pleased to join the Commercial Litigation team at Birkett Long LLP on qualification in September 2008.
I have experience in dealing with a wide range of personal and commercial litigation. A large part of this work relates to matters involving land and property disputes I am therefore the key contact for litigation in Birkett Long’s Rural Business Team. A particular specialism relates to land drainage and flood damage but I also cover commercial disputes, principally within the rural and construction sectors but also the financial sector. I have a particular interest in taking a commercial approach and defending clients’ interest without unnecessary recourse to legal proceedings. My cases have included contract disputes, non payment, franchise disputes, landlord and tenant disputes, protection of rights of way, breach of restrictive covenants, professional negligence claims and boundary disputes, amongst others.
I carry out much of my advocacy at interim hearing and have experience representing clients at mediation.
