I studied Mediaeval History at St. Andrews University (1975 - 79). Before joining Birkett Long as a partner in 2003 I was a partner at Bankes Ashton (now Ashton Graham), Bury St. Edmunds. Prior to that I trained with Macfarlanes, London and worked at Mills & Reeve, Norwich.
I am Head of Rural Business, specialising in agriculture and estates. I am on the Executive Board and Council member of the Suffolk Agricultural Association and a member of the Agricultural Law Association.
Hobbies: Sport - particularly golf, lawn tennis, real tennis and cricket; Golf administration - R&A Rules of Golf Committee 2006 - 09 (Deputy Chairman 2008 - 09) and R&A Championship Committee 2009 - ; refereeing at golf tournaments, including the Open Championship (2006 - )
