The Claimant was riding his motorcycle and ahead of him he saw slowing traffic on a two-lane highway. The client moved to the right hand side to pass the slowing traffic, when another vehicle did a u-turn, knocking Donald off his motorcycle. Donald injured his knee, sustained a whiplash injury, but also had a head injury although he was only knocked out momentarily. Donald was unable to work for 6 months and after that had difficulty doing his job owing to the head injury and his memory and concentration problems. At the time of the accident Donald was self-employed, so a forensic accountant assisted in calculating the loss of earnings element in this claim. Donald was awarded £122,000.
