Rural Business

Experience

We have a dedicated team of rural lawyers who deal exclusively with the supply of specialist legal advice and support for farmers and landowners throughout East Anglia.

Our team consists of four solicitors, three of whom specialise in rural work and one of whom deals solely with planning matters.  Involvement in the rural community through farming organizations and activities enables our team to understand the issues facing farmers and landowners.  We have acted for several generations of farming families and have over 90 years' experience within the team.

We are also able to advise on the wider implications of EU Regulations on our clients' businesses through David Wybar's membership of a committee that represents the farming industry at the European Commission.  Our team has been involved in creative schemes to enable land transactions to be completed and farming businesses to develop in spite of the Mid Term Review of the Common Agricultural Policy.

Clients benefit from the breadth and depth of Birkett Long's practice, which ensures that we can draw on the skills of legal professionals in other areas of the firm to provide a complete legal service.
