Birkett Long Ranks Highly in Inaugural Top 100
Birkett Long Solicitors has been ranked at number 34 in all categories and number 6 in the Lawyers’ category in the inaugural survey of the Top 100 Professional Firms to Work For in 2008 produced by the Managing Partners’ Forum (MPF), the premier association of those involved in the management of professional firms.
The survey uses rigorous independent assessment techniques to uncover employee experiences of their workplace. It uses eight ‘engagement factors’ to assess how informed, motivated and satisfied employees feel about the firm for which they work. It looks at what employees feel about their employer, how they judge their employer’s ability to help clients resolve issues, and how much is given back to the community. The MPF stresses the link between these factors and brand advocacy, and how use of the survey can help firms to benchmark changes.
MPF was formed in 1995 to promote excellent standards of management within professional firms. As well as traditional management skills, the Forum addresses other areas such as working towards carbon neutrality.
Philip George, Birkett Long’s Managing Partner said: “We take part in this survey because we find out more from independent assessment than we could by carrying out our own research. Our policy is to get people involved by giving them responsibility and equipping them with the resources they need to get the job done. The benefits of this approach are far-reaching and affect the whole of the business.”
Birkett Long’s placement of 34th was well ahead of most much larger city firms and all local competitors.
