Train Station Directions to:
Chelmsford Office and Colchester Office
Exit the railway station onto Victoria Road and turn left. Continue up Victoria Road passing the YMCA on your left. You should then reach a cross roads (where you will be able to see the Police HQ ahead on the right). In order to turn right up New Street, cross the road at the crossing, and continue walking past The Wheatsheaf pub.
Staying on the right hand side of the road, walk up New Street until you reach Legg Street on the right. Number One is on your left. Walk up the steps into the building, and once inside, Birkett Long’s reception is on your left.
It will take you approximately 5 - 10 minutes to walk from the station.
Come out of the side entrance of the train station and go down the road to join North Station Road. At the bottom turn right and walk along North Station Road to the first set of traffic lights. Cross over North Station Road to the other side where you will see a bus stop. Turn right and continue up North Station Road towards the town centre. Go straight across at every roundabout passing by the Albert Pub, various restaurants and shops and going across the bridge which goes over the River Colne. You will see North Hill in front of you. At the end of North Station Road go straight across at the set of traffic lights and go up North Hill, which is quite steep!
At the top of North Hill turn right at the traffic lights and go across the road. Then continue on up Head Street past the Post Office and Odeon cinema on your right and Debenhams and Woolworths on your left. At the next set of traffic lights turn right into Crouch Street. Continue up Crouch Street to the end where you will find an underpass which goes under Balkerne Hill, take this to the other side of Crouch Street and again walk to the end. You will find our offices on the left hand side in Essex House, opposite Guntons.
This will take you approximately 25/30 minutes to walk from the station.
We highly recommend you take a bus or taxi as it is a relatively long distance.
By Bus: There are regular buses from the train station. Take a no.65 or 5 (approximately £1.50 - 2 return ask for Crouch Street) from the bus stop near the station on North Station Road and it will drop you off opposite the bypass which takes you under Balkerne Hill (see directions above).
By Taxi: The taxi rank is outside the main station entrance near to where the ticket office is located.
